NORMAN — OU’s Board of Regents approved donations for softball coach Patty Gasso’s statue during its meeting on Tuesday.
The statue was first announced on June 10 and athletic director Joe Castiglione has since said it will be unveiled later this season outside Gate 1 at Love’s Field. Gasso has led the Sooners to seven national titles in 29 seasons in Norman and has reached the Women’s College World Series 16 times.

Bates, whose raise was first reported by 247Sports on Feb. 29, will keep his current three-year contract and will make $800,000 this season.
Bedenbaugh received a massive three-year contract extension. He’ll make $1.05 million in 2024 up from 820,000 last season.
