The Jets are entertaining offers for wide receiver Allen Lazard but are in no rush to part with the pass catcher.
Sources tell SNY’s Connor Hughes that while Lazard’s name has come up in trade talks, the Jets are not actively trying to deal him.
The Athletic reported earlier on Thursday that the Jets have made Lazard available in trade talks.
If this is it for Lazard in green and white it will mark the end of a less-than-stellar career with New York. The six-year veteran caught just 23 passes for 311 yards and one touchdown in his first season with the Jets.
Lazard was brought on to give Aaron Rodgers a familiar target as the duo spent the previous five seasons with the Green Bay Packers from 2018-22. In that span, Lazard caught 169 passes for 2236 yards and 20 touchdowns.
The Jets signed Lazard, 28, to a four-year, $44 million deal ($22 million guaranteed) a year ago. Lazard is due $10 million this season and the Jets would save $3.4 million by trading him. That number increases to $10 million if it happens post-June 1.
