Former Browns QB and NFL Comeback Player of the Year Joe Flacco has signed one-year deal worth up to $8.7 million with the Indianapolis Colts, according to a report from ESPN on Wednesday. He will also receive $4.5 million guaranteed in the deal, per the report.
The 38-year-old was picked up by Cleveland mid-season following Deshaun Watson’s season-ending shoulder injury in November. From there, Flacco led the team to four straight wins which propelled them into the playoffs.
However, his Cinderella story was cut short as the team fell to the Houston Texans 45-14 in the first round of the postseason.
The veteran quarterback finished the 2023 season with 1,616 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions across five games to earn him AP Comeback Player of the Year honors.
Flacco was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Across his 11 seasons with the team, he led them to a Super Bowl title in 2013 and was named Super Bowl MVP that year.
Prior to his short stint in Cleveland, Flacco also spent time with the Denver Broncos (2019) and the New York Jets (2021-2022).
Across his 16-season career, he’s thrown for 43,936 yards and 245 touchdowns.
