How to watch NHL Stanley Pup rescue dog competition on ESPN+

There’s the Stanley Cup, and now, there’s the Stanley Pup.

The NHL will host the first-ever Stanley Pup rescue dog competition. The broadcast will be available to stream Friday at midnight on ESPN+. The 90-minute competition will feature adoptable dogs representing all 32 NHL teams, including the 16 that qualified for the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs.

Dogs like Alex Ofetchkin, Connor McDoodle and Sergei Bobruffsky will face off in celebration of the matchup between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final. National nonprofit organization Petco Love offered adoptable dogs from their partner animal shelters and rescues nationwide.

The Stanley Pup will feature appearances by NHL players and coaches including Kyle Burroughs, Anton Forsberg, Anze Kopitar, Nick Suzuki, MacKenzie Weegar, Trevor van Riemsdyk, and Tom Wilson. Celebrity dog lovers including Kristin Chenoweth, Mickey Guyton, Miranda Lambert, Heather McMahan, Lisa Vanderpump and Trisha Yearwood will be in attendance.

Coverage of the Stanley Cup Final begins Saturday on ABC and ESPN+.
