In recruiting, it’s never too early to go after upcoming classes and Ohio State football is on top of its game.
One of the Buckeyes biggest targets is a local product, Avon Lake offensive tackle, Maxwell Riley. The 6-foot, 5-inch, 263-pound lineman narrowed down his recruiting list on Tuesday to just seven schools: Michigan State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida State, Clemson and Ohio State.
Riley is a priority prospect for the Buckeyes, not just due to the fact that he resides in Ohio, but his elite play as well. He’s ranked as the nation’s No. 57 overall prospect, 9th offensive tackle and second in the state according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
God has blessed me immensely with these opportunities. After much discussion with my family we have decided to narrow the list of prospective college football programs to seven. I will be concentrating on my relationships with these schools moving forward. Thank you & God Bless! pic.twitter.com/uborftpwlN

At this stage of the 2026 cycle, Ohio State has just one commitment, wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., who is originally from Ohio but is currently finishing his high school career in California.
