The return of college football means the return of themed nights at SHI Stadium. This week, Rutgers football announced that the blackout game will be held on Sept.27 when Washington makes a trip to Piscataway. The game, presented by Horizon, will be aired on FOX at 8 p.m.
As all eyes in college football will be on Rutgers, fans are encouraged to wear black and arrive early to see the pregame light and fireworks show. For the first time during the 2024 campaign, Rutgers players will wear their black uniforms and helmets. A Rutgers Blackout t-shirt will also be given to fans as they enter the stadium.
Additionally, the pregame festivities will include some of the top food trucks in the state and live entertainment. Giveaways will include โBeat Washingtonโ buttons and shakers. Football letter winners and the 2024 Rutgers Athletics Hall of Fame class will be honored during the game.

Entering this matchup, Rutgers will be looking for their first win against Washington in school history. The Scarlet Knights are 0-2 against the Huskies all-time. These two programs last faced each other in 2017.
