Ohio State football had another dominant recruiting class for the 2024 haul and landed a consensus top-five class in the country. Once again, the class features serious star power and the Buckeyes were able to snag some amazing talent on the offensive side of the ball including an intriguing homegrown interior offensive lineman from St. Edward in Lakewood, Ohio.
Name: Deontae Armstrong
High School: St. Edward (Lakewood, OH)
Height: 6 feet, 6 inches
Weight: 280 pounds
Position: Interior Offensive Lineman
Strengths
Much like his twin brother, Deontae Armstrong has shown great improvement throughout his high school career and has an insanely high ceiling potential-wise. He also has a great frame that has already seen a ton of growth in the last few years but has room for even more muscle.

Weaknesses
This scouting report is going to sound similar to his brother’s but in all fairness they are twins. Guys of his size with his level of athleticism tend to just smash defenders at the high school level without much thought, which means his main focus on the next level should be developing mentally.

Expectations
Armstrong is underrated and I have no idea why he was only listed as a three-star because he is big, athletic, and intelligent. He is one of my favorite players in this class and is the perfect ball of clay for any offensive line coach to mold. It is hard for linemen to see the field early, but I do think Armstrong can become an All-American level talent before leaving Ohio State.
