Rickards High’s Jalen Wiggins saw what he needed to see at Florida State during his official visit last weekend.
Now, the decision is in his hands.
Wiggins, who committed to Florida last January. is a four-star prospect who received 27 offers following his junior season. Last season for the Raiders, the defensive lineman registered 97 tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, 37 quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
ESPN has Wiggins ranked No. 9 in his position and No. 8 in the state. 247 Sports ranks in the early teens (No. 11 by pos., No. 13 in FL), and On3 has the Tallahassee native ranked the No. 9 defensive lineman and No.13 in the state.
Wiggins has narrowed down his 27 offers to three.
FSU and Stanford have been in the mix for the Tallahassee native. During his visit to FSU, Wiggins was looking for more details on the school, such as its history and academics, along with playing for coach Mike Norvell.

“I feel like just coming on an official visit gives you a chance to learn more about anything you can learn,” Wiggins said.
“I feel like coming on the official visit shows you more of like a centralized version, more centered to you. Just concerning everything that it is you have to learn, know about the program.”
With his size at 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds, FSU viewed Wiggins as another Jared Verse-type player and is expected to be the Seminoles’ edge player if he joins the program.
“I feel like that is a really good way to play, you know, straight down the line,” Wiggins said. “Go get the ball. Go get the quarterback. I feel like that is a great way to play.”
