Rutgers football will play a Big Ten rival in the ‘Scarlet Out’ game

As anticipation for the 2024 college football season builds, Rutgers football has announced another themed game.

The ‘Scarlet Out’ game will be held on Oct. 12 when Wisconsin visits SHI Stadium. However, it will not be the only thing for fans to celebrate, as it will also be band day.

Fans who arrive early to the game will receive a free scarlet Block R t-shirt upon entering the stadium while supplies last. Festivities will also include performances from bands throughout the state at halftime. The fun does not stop there.

At the Rutgers Boardwalk, there will be a pregame parade and pep rally featuring the Scarlet Knight Marching Band, Spirit Team, and the Scarlet Knight horse “Excalibur,” with the Knight and the football team arriving. The Rutgers Boardwalk opens four hours before kickoff.

During the game, Rutgers will honor the Scarlet Society. The society is a top level of the RFund characterized by passion, loyalty, and generosity. It has made a memorable impact at Rutgers through its commitment to student-athletes.

While this game will highlight what makes Rutgers unique, the Scarlet Knights will also be looking for revenge. Last year they lost their only match to Wisconsin 24-13. As Rutgers looks to improve in conference play, a win over the Badgers would be big.
