The 2024 Penn State Nittany Lions are the no. 9-ranked team in EA Sports College Football 25 with an overall rating of 88.
The rating unveiling follows a week-long reveal in which the video game shares its offense and defense power rankings. The Nittany Lions, with a top-10 defense and a top-15 offense, have cemented themselves as one of the best squads in the game.

The video game’s ratings of the top teams are unsurprising and seem to make sense. Leading the way with a 95 overall squad is the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs, followed by No. 2 Ohio State (93 OVR) and No. 3 Oregon (93 OVR). Rounding out the top five are No. 4 Alabama (92 OVR) and Texas (92 OVR).
Penn State is the highest-ranked 88-team overall, followed by Utah, Michigan, Florida State, Miami, Texas A&M and Ole Miss, which all have the same rating.
The Nittany Lions enter 2024 under pressure to finally make the College Football Playoff, with the format expanding. The team also seeks a signature win against a top-ten team that seems to have alluded to James Franklin in recent years. EA Sports and the more official preseason rankings see Penn State as a top-ten team with the potential for even better.
