The Georgia Bulldogs were a major winner in college football recruiting during the June and are now seeking to carry that momentum into July. According to a recruiting expert, Georgia may be well on their way to doing that in the form of flipping a commit from a rival school.
247Sports’ Benjamin Wolk has projected the Bulldogs to land Shamari Earls, a four-star cornerback who is currently committed to Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Earls is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback from Chester, Virginia, who has been committed to the Gamecocks since April. Earls recently visited Athens on June 21. Michigan has also been heavily involved in his recruitment. He is the eighth ranked cornerback in the country and the second ranked player in Virginia.
During his time at Thomas Dale High School, Earls has starred in both football and track and field. He has played as a two-way player, recording 25 tackles and three interceptions a season ago on the defensive side to go along with 715 yards and eight touchdowns as a receiver while also working as a return specialist.
Georgia does not currently have any defensive backs committed in the class of 2025. In addition to Earls, the Bulldogs have recently been linked to four-star safeties Jaylan Morgan and Rashad Johnson.
