Though Arkansas enters the 2024 college football season mired in uncertainty, its future got a little bit brighter Tuesday.
Linebacker Tavion Wallace, a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, has committed to coach Sam Pittman and the Razorbacks, announcing his decision at a ceremony Tuesday night.
A standout at Wayne County High School in Jesup, Georgia, Wallace is rated as the No. 54 prospect nationally and No. 6 linebacker in the 2025 class by 247Sports’ composite ranking.
He chose Arkansas over Georgia, Florida and Florida State. He had previously taken an official visit to Arkansas’ Fayetteville campus from May 31 to June 2, after which he narrowed his list of potential destinations to his four finalists.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Wallace becomes the first player in the Razorbacks’ 16-player 2025 recruiting haul that’s rated higher than three stars by 247.
In addition to his four finalists, Wallace also held scholarship offers from LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Auburn, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Louisville, among others.
Wallace is the younger brother of Trevin Wallace, who played linebacker at Kentucky from 2021-23 before being selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The older Wallace had been recruited by current Arkansas defensive coordinator Travis Williams while he was an assistant coach at Auburn.
Wallace’s commitment comes before what figures to be a crucial season for Pittman. After posting a 9-4 record in 2021, his second season with the Razorbacks, Pittman’s teams have gone 11-14 over the past two seasons, including a 4-8 mark in 2023.
