After a good deal of buzz surrounding the potential of a flip, the Georgia Bulldogs added yet another major commitment to their 2025 class. Shamari Earls, a four-star cornerback of out of Chester, Virginia, flipped to the Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon after being previously committed to the Dawgs’ in-conference rivals, the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Earls is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback who plays at Thomas Dale High School and had been committed to the Gamecocks since April. He is the eighth ranked cornerback in the country and the second ranked player in Virginia.
Earls has starred in both football and track and field. He has played as a two-way player, recording 25 tackles and three interceptions a season ago on the defensive side to go along with 715 yards and eight touchdowns as a receiver while also working as a return specialist.
With the addition of Earls, the Bulldogs now have 18 players committed in the class of 2025 and have the third ranked class in the country, trailing only Ohio State and Alabama. South Carolina has now fallen to the 38th ranking after losing one of their highest rated commits.
