LSU receiver target Derek Meadows pushes commitment back a week

One of the top uncommitted prospects on LSU’s board was set to make a decision on Saturday, but as teams continue to push, he’s opted to move that commitment date back a week.

Now, four-star Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) wideout Derek Meadows is set to make a decision on July 20. LSU is one of Meadows’ five finalists, joining Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and Notre Dame.

Meadows is a top-50 prospect nationally in the 2025 cycle, ranking as the No. 41 overall player and No. 7 receiver. He’s also the class’ top recruit from the state of Nevada.

LSU had him on campus last month for an official visit, but it seems to have some ground to make up. Notre Dame holds a crystal ball projection to land him and is an 83% favorite according to the 247Sports composite.

However, his decision to push his commitment back is good news for teams in the mix that aren’t the Fighting Irish, and that includes a Tigers team that is looking to land an elite receiver after Dakorien Moore decommitted in May and later flipped to Oregon.
