Another Michigan football official visit in June has been converted into a commitment.
Phillip Wright, a three-star class of 2025 wide receiver from Destrehan, Louisiana, pledged to the Wolverines on Saturday over a host of Division I powers such as Baylor, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami (Florida), LSU and Texas A&M. The Tigers and Bulldogs were the final contenders alongside the Wolverines.
Wright, who officially visited Ann Arbor on June 14 between stops at Baylor, Georgia and Georgia Tech, is rated the No. 21 prospect in Louisiana, the No. 33 athlete in the country and No. 534 overall player in his class according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings.

ON THE COURTS: For 7-footer Danny Wolf, the second time was the charm with Michigan basketball
Standing 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds, Wright has a smaller frame but makes up for it with exceptional speed. As a junior, Wright ran a 10.46 100-yard dash and a 20.89 in the 200 as he has qualified for the Louisiana All-State meet each of his three high school seasons.
Wright is now the second wide receiver committed to head coach Sherrone Moore and wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy in the 2025 class. He joins four-star Jacob Washington (Marrero, Louisiana), who plays at Bellamy’s alma mater just outside New Orleans, just more than 20 miles east of Destrehan.
U-M’s class of 2025 was off to a slow start, but after landing 12 prospects since the beginning of June, Moore and company are getting closer to rounding out the cohort which currently has 16 commits and ranks No. 12 in the nation, according to 247 Sports.
