In today’s college football recruiting landscape, unpredictability is a given, as many prospects will defy pre-announcement predictions due to various factors, ranging from NIL, family or a quick development track to the NFL.
As the competition only increases, Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class is highly impressive on paper. It gained 18 commitments, led by five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet, while more than half of the cycle is dominated by offensive line and defensive commits.
However, Mike Elko and his staff, specifically wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins, know that landing at least one top-tier wide receiver prospect should put the class over the top and add immediate starting talent during the 2025 season.
Trying to avoid former head coach Jimbo Fisher’s failure of losing 2024 five-star WR Cam Coleman to the Auburn Tigers, several 2025 prospects, including five-star wide receivers Kaliq Lockett and Michael Terry III. The latter announced a decision will be coming sooner than later.
After visiting College Station on June 12, Terry, who is favored to land with Texas or Oregon, included the Aggies in a recent update next to Nebraska. He is reportedly considering all four programs.
Terry’s impressive size (6 feet, 3 inches and nearly 220 pounds) is one of the many reasons he’s thrived at multiple positions on offense. During his 2023 junior season, he performed as both wide receiver and running back, recording 992 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns, paired with 564 receiving yards and ten touchdowns on the year.
On the 247Sports composite, Terry has continued to rise in the rankings. He is currently the 28th-ranked prospect in the 2025 cycle, the No. 1-ranked athlete in the class and the eighth-ranked prospect in Texas.
