No. 2 overall prospect in Ohio adds USC to cut list of schools

Five-star safety Trey McNutt will make his college decision on July 19, he announced last week. He will choose from Florida, Ohio State, Oregon, USC and Texas A&M.

McNutt is the No. 2 player in the state of Ohio, the No. 19 overall player and No. 1 safety in the 2025 class.

The Shaker Heights (Ohio) native officially visited the Ducks towards the end of June, multiple predictions from On3 had him committing to Oregon.

McNutt is currently favored to pick the Ducks, with a 78.1% lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

McNutt visited USC on May 31, Florida on June 7, Texas A&M on June 13 and did not visit his home school, Ohio State.

USC hopes that it can turn the tide in this recruitment, so that it can score an actual victory against the recruiting juggernaut of Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks. Losing out to Oregon in a big football recruitment has gotten old, but it’s the story of the summer. The Trojans frankly need a big 2024 season to change the conversation and shift the balance of power in recruiting this December.
