SEC Media Days began Monday, meaning predictions for the upcoming football season will pour in by the gallons over this week.

Writers at 247Sports have released their own SEC football preseason poll ahead of the official media poll being unveiled, and the expectations for the Auburn Tigers will be low according to the outlet’s predictions.

According to the rankings, Auburn is projected to finish No. 10 this season in the SEC, which will scrap division play beginning this fall. Auburn is one spot below Texas A&M and is projected to finish higher than Kentucky, Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt.

Auburn’s No. 10 projected finish is one spot higher than last season’s No. 11 prediction. Auburn ended the season with a 6-7 record and a 3-5 mark in the SEC. By 247Sports’ rankings, the No. 11 prediction was spot-on as Auburn finished No. 5 in the SEC West and held the same SEC record as Kentucky, Florida, and South Carolina.

Mississippi State, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt finished with worse records in SEC play than Auburn in 2023. The Tigers look to take a step forward this season beginning Aug. 31 against Alabama A&M at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
