Two Mississippi State Players claim Jordan-Hare is tougher to play in than Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa

SEC Media Days are officially underway, meaning players and coaches have begun answering every question reporters can think of. On Wednesday, one of those questions was posed to Mississippi State players John Lewis and Albert Reese IV.

The duo was asked if playing at Jordan-Hare Stadium or Bryant-Denny Stadium, home of the Alabama Crimson Tide was harder. Both responded fairly emphatically with Jordan-Hare, citing the “great fanbase and atmosphere”. Lewis even went as far as to call the fans “crazy”, although both players alluded to the crazy adjective being a term of endearment.

The comments from the pair of Bulldogs followed a trend of players and coaches praising the “tough” atmosphere Auburn employs during road games. Lewis and Resse’s remarks came shortly after Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel told reporters Georgia star Carson Beck jokingly told him Jordan-Hare stadium was “cursed”.

Beck’s thoughts seem to be shared by his head coach, who called Auburn’s home field “one of the hardest places to play in the world.” Admittedly, it makes sense for both Georgia and Mississippi State to share concerns about playing Auburn on the road following MSU’s 14 point loss and UGA’s “Houdini act” of a final drive win on the Plains a year ago.

Its clear opposing players and coaches across the conference think highly of the home field advantage Jordan-Hare stadium brings each season. Auburn fans will be back on the Plains depositing distress on visiting squads when the season kicks off on August 31.
