After over a decade of waiting, we finally have another college football video game.
EA Sports College Football 25 releases worldwide Friday so in the spirit of the new game, I decided to auto-sim the 2024 season and see how OU, Oklahoma State and the nation fared. Remember, this is a video game, so there’s naturally going to be some shocking results.
Here is how the Cowboys and Sooners’ seasons ended up, including some other notable moments across the country:

Oklahoma EA Sports College Football 25 season simulation
The Sooners’ first season in the SEC was filled with ups and downs. While they’re 7-5 record isn’t too far off from most preseason projections, there were a few stunners on the schedule.
After escaping Temple with a two-point victory to open the season, OU was upset 21-14 at home by a Houston team that finished 4-8. The Sooners easily defeated Tulane and fell to Tennessee at home 28-24 before rattling off three consecutive victories over Auburn, Texas in the Red River Rivalry and South Carolina.
OU went on to win just two more games the rest of the season, beating Maine and Missouri and falling in blowout fashion to Mississippi, Alabama and LSU. The Sooners ended the season on a high note, however, defeating Florida in the Citrus Bowl and ranking No. 13 in the final top 25 poll.
OU finished eighth in the SEC with a 4-4 conference record. The Volunteers were crowned SEC champions.
Quarterback Jackson Arnold finished 12th in Heisman voting with 3,521 yards passing, 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 73% of his passes. Gavin Sawchuk led the Sooners in rushing with 551 yards, while Andrel Anthony recorded a team-high 988 receiving yards.
