NORMAN — Brent Venables notched a Canadian-born recruit.
OU picked up the 22nd member of its 2025 class with a Saturday afternoon commitment from defensive lineman Floyd Boucard.
Boucard picked the Sooners over Alabama, Miami and USC.
Boucard is a native of Montreal, Quebec, who plans to play at Miami Central High in Florida this season after playing last year at Mobile Christian in Alabama. He will join offensive lineman Daniel Akinkunmi as international born players on the roster. Former OU standout and current Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Neville Gallimore was from Ottawa, Ontario.
247Sports’ Composite ranking lists Boucard as a three-star recruit and the No. 434 overall player. He ranks No. 49 among defensive linemen in the ’25 class.
OU initially offered Boucard on Feb. 2 and he visited Norman on June 15. He also visited the Crimson Tide, the Hurricanes and the Trojans and holds over 40 offers.
Boucard is OU’s fifth defensive line commit in the 2025 class. OU has earned pledges from four-star edge rusher and Weatherford star CJ Nickson, three-star defensive linemen Ka’Mori Moore and Trent Wilson, and three-star edge rusher Alexander Shieldnight, a Wagoner star.
