Vote for top returning Jackson area quarterback going into 2024 TSSAA football season

It’s almost high school football time in West Tennessee.

Practice opens next week in the Jackson area ahead of the 2024 TSSAA football season. The first games are set for the weekend of Aug. 23, with some games taking place on Aug. 22.

Going into the season, The Jackson Sun has been ranking returning players by position groups. Now, it’s the fans turn to vote for players for who will be the best returning player by position during the 2024 season, starting with the quarterbacks.

Here are the nominees.

Gray Eubanks, Huntingdon, 5-foot-9, 185 pounds, Junior: Eubanks didn’t have big numbers last year, but he was effective with 614 passing yards and six touchdowns while running the ball for 896 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Zac Fowler, West Carroll, 5-foot-11, 165 pounds, Sophomore: As a freshman last season, Fowler totaled 1,159 all-purpose yards (812 passing, 347 rushing) and 12 total touchdowns (seven passing, five rushing) for the War Eagles.

Ben Hill, Adamsville, 6-foot, 160 pounds, Junior: Hill threw for 1,978 yards and 23 touchdowns against seven interceptions for the Cardinals last season.

Corben Howard, USJ, 6-foot-4, 210 pounds, Junior: Howard, an All-Region quarterback, threw for 1,550 yards for the Bruins last season with 11 touchdowns against seven interceptions.

Austin Kelley, Jackson Christian, 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, Senior: Kelley threw for a JCS single-season best 2,808 yards last season and totaled 40 touchdown passes. He was named All-State and DII-1A All-Region.

Greyson Lambert, Crockett County, 6-foot-2, Senior: Lambert threw for 1,092 yards and nine touchdowns for the Cavaliers last season.

Isaac Moore, Camden Central, 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, Senior: A run-heavy quarterback, Moore rushed for 1,524 yards for the Lions last season and 24…
