Oklahoma high school football: Putnam City defensive back Mykel Ford commits to Nevada

Putnam City senior defensive back Mykel Ford announced his commitment to Nevada on Wednesday. He chose the Wolf Pack after receiving Division I offers from Kent State and South Dakota.

Ford, a 6-foot, 160-pound senior, is a recent addition to Putnam City after moving from Putnam City West over the summer. He joins a Pirates defense that already hosts talent defensively, with defensive back Elijah Asberry and recent Tulsa commit Brayden Knox.

Ford was a force in the secondary as a junior. He led the Patriots with three defensive touchdowns, two interceptions, and 55 tackles. Ford has also shown off his versatility as a receiver in spurts, totaling 233 yards of offense.
