Lagonza Hayward, one of the top safeties in the 2025 class, has committed to Tennessee football.
Hayward announced his commitment Saturday on Instagram.
“I will be taking my talents for the next four years to Tennessee,” he said.
Hayward, a four-star prospect, is ranked the No. 10 safety and No. 95 player overall in the 2025 class by the 247Sports Composite.
He is a 6-foot-1, 200-pounder from Toombs County High in Lyons, Georgia.
Hayward chose Tennessee over Georgia and Florida. He also had offers from Southern Cal, Alabama, Florida State and South Carolina among dozens of others.
As a junior in 2023, Heyward had 48 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, four pass breakups, three interceptions and one forced fumble. He also played wide receiver, catching 26 passes for 727 yards and seven TDs. And he returned a kickoff for a TD.
