How LSU’s 2025 recruiting class compares to the rest of the SEC

LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is one of the best in the country. Led by QB [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag], the Tigers have 16 blue-chip recruits according to On3’s Industry Rankings.

After things slowed down a bit earlier in the summer, the Tigers have recaptured some momentum on the trail after a big month in July that saw the team pick up several blue-chip commitments.

Here, we’ll take a look at how this class stacks up against the rest of the SEC.

There’s still a long way to go before classes are finalized and a few more big dominos are set to fall in August, but we have a good idea of what the final product might look like.

Overall ranking

Both the On3 Industry Rankings and the 247Sports composite Ratings have LSU as the No. 2 overall class in the SEC. The only team ahead is Alabama.

It’s close, but Alabama’s class has 21 commits compared to LSU’s 19. That extra bump is enough to keep the Tide in front.

Just behind LSU is Georgia. The Dawgs are pushing to secure commitments from some of the nation’s top remaining targets and are a threat to finish with the No. 1 overall class.

Texas is hovering around too, but the SEC’s top class looks like a three-horse race between Alabama, LSU and Georgia.

Who has the most five stars?

The top of LSU’s class is strong, but right now, it’s a notch behind Alabama. According to 247Sports, Alabama has five five-stars on board. The best of which is Keelon Russell, a five-star QB from Texas.

The Tide have five stars locked in at premium positions like offensive tackle, wide receiver, and cornerback.
