Jets’ Morgan Moses felt like he was ‘10 years old again’ in return to practice field

After weeks of continuing his recovery from offseason surgery on a torn pectoral, Jets offensive lineman Morgan Moses was finally able to return to the practice field in full capacity for Friday’s training camp session.

While the 33-year-old is now heading into his 11th season in the league, he admitted to reporters following the workout that he definitely had some nerves running back onto the field for the first time.

“It doesn’t matter how old you are or how many years you’ve been in the league, you still get pregame jitters,” he said. “I’m never one of just have to work through things, so being able to just go out there today with the guys you feel like you’re 10 years old again, it felt fantastic.”

Moses, who was required in an offseason deal involving draft picks, returns to Gang Green after spending the previous two seasons blocking for quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.

While there are still some familiar faces around the organization from his first stint, there’s plenty of new ones as well, including future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers who holds his offense to an extremely high standard.

That certainly added a whole new element to Moses’ jitters, but he was excited to finally be able to get those first few snaps out of the way.

“Aaron expects a lot out of us as an offensive group,” he said. “I never want to be that guy that’s letting someone down, so being in the huddle for the first time with him and just seeing how he demands greatness out of each and every one of us it’s definitely been great today.”

And with Moses returning, New York will officially have their five starting offensive lineman all on the practice field at the same time, which is something they were unable to accomplish last season.

The veteran discussed how big of a deal that is for this group to get acquainted with each other, while also stressing how crucial it was for some of the younger guys to step in and get reps with the first-team…
