A little more than 30 minutes after Arkansas got a commitment from Durant edge rusher Colton Yarbrough, the top 2026 recruit in Oklahoma, the Razorbacks got another pledge, this time from the state’s most-coveted defensive back prospect.
Lawton MacArthur safety Adam Auston announced his commitment to Arkansas on Saturday.
A three-star prospect and the fourth-ranked 2026 recruit in the state according to 247Sports, Auston made the announcement at his school after releasing his top five on Wednesday, which included the Razorbacks, Baylor, Kansas State, Missouri and Oklahoma State.
Arkansas has picked up several Oklahoma prospects in recent years, and head coach Sam Pittman is a Grove alum.
Now, the Razorbacks have yet another commitment from the Sooner State in Auston.

Guthrie’s Jaylen Harper scores a touchdown as Lawton MacArthur’s Adam Auston defends during a Class 5A playoff game on Nov. 10 in Guthrie.
“They’ve been consistent the whole time,” Auston told Rivals on its live Youtube stream. “Ever since they offered me, even before they offered me, they were always texting me, saying how I was doing, everything like that. And then when I went up there to that visit, it sealed the deal.”
Listed at 6-foot-2, 212 pounds, Auston has impressive size for a defensive back along with great speed and athleticism.
As a sophomore, he finished with 92 tackles and two interceptions, both of which were returned for touchdowns. He also had four pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
Lawton MacArthur, which competes in Class 5A, went 8-3 and lost to Guthrie 49-21 in the first round of the playoffs.
