On Monday, the initial US LBM Coaches Poll was released as we got our first picture of how coaches around the country view teams entering the 2024 season.

LSU’s position in most preseason polls has varied, with some having the team in the top 10 while others have it lower, just inside the top 20. The preseason coaches poll is on the higher end of those estimations, putting the Tigers at No. 12 entering the season.

They’re the sixth-highest-ranked SEC team behind Georgia (No. 1), Texas (No. 4), Alabama (No. 5), Ole Miss (No. 6) and Missouri (No. 11). LSU faces five teams who are ranked in the preseason.
