It’s true that Notre Dame is in the ACC for almost every sport. But the football program remains proudly independent with the stipulation that it schedules five ACC teams a year. It’s a small price pay to keep a cherished source of pride for the Irish.
PFF College apparently overlooked the Irish’s football independence when it published a graphic asking how many ACC teams would make the first edition of the expanded College Football Playoff. Take a look at the graphic and see if you can figure out what’s wrong here:
Yeah, kind of a big thing to get incorrect here, huh? It’s no secret that many college football fans want to see the Irish join a conference like most other programs, but that doesn’t excuse this blatant error. The Irish will remain independent as long as they’re able to, and it’s unlikely we’ll see that change anytime soon. Simply put, they need to be better.
