Notre Dame offensive line coach named fifth-best in college football

Notre Dame offensive line coach Joe Rudolph, second from right, talks to offensive lineman Aamil Wagner (59) during a Notre Dame football practice at Irish Athletic Center on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, in South Bend.

All eyes will be on the health and effectiveness of Notre Dame’s offensive line in 2024. Big Game Boomer, who makes a lot of college football lists on social media, recently named that unit the Irish’s biggest liability for the season. Soon after, offensive tackle [autotag]Charles Jagusah[/autotag] was lost for the season with an injury.

But the Irish have a great offensive line coach in [autotag]Joe Rudolph[/autotag], and Big Game Boomer seems to agree in his latest list:

Rudolph already was dealing with the loss of two prominent players on his unit as [autotag]Joe Alt[/autotag] and [autotag]Blake Fisher[/autotag] have gone off to the NFL. The good news is many have confidence in his ability to make lemons out of lemonade, and the various young options he has for this unit could be seen as beneficial for depth if nothing else.

A coach like Rudolph should love a challenge. We’ll see if he’s up to this one.
