Auburn Tigers wide receiver Robert Lewis (14) turns up field after a catch during the A-Day spring game at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala., on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
[autotag]Robert Lewis[/autotag] made plenty of noise while at Georgia State and looks to do the same on the Plains. After spending a few seasons as a complementary receiver to Jamari Thrash in Atlanta, Lewis led all Panthers receivers by hauling 70 catches for 877 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023. Heading into his senior season at Auburn, he will be a contender for the Biletnikoff Award, handed out to the best receiver in college football annually.
Lewis joins 49 other wide receivers and tight ends on the watchlist, including eight receivers from the SEC. Lewis will compete with Arkansas’ Andrew Armstrong, Missouri’s Luther Burden III, and Ole Miss’ Tre Harris for the coveted prize. Former Auburn wide receiver [autotag]Kobe Hudson[/autotag], now at UCF, is also a candidate.
According to the Biletnikoff Award website, the award “recognizes the outstanding receiver (including tight ends), not merely the outstanding wide receiver. The award recipient is selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of prominent college football journalists, commentators, and former receivers.”
The top three finalists for the award will be revealed on Nov. 26, with the winner being announced on Dec. 12 during The Home Depot College Football Awards.
