FAYETTEVILLE — Rodney Hill’s journey to Arkansas football included a pit stop.
It turns out, there was also a large, unexpected speed bump.
Hill spoke with the media Friday for the first time since joining the Razorbacks. The redshirt sophomore from Georgia spent two years at Florida State before transferring to Florida A&M, then Arkansas, this offseason.
According to Hill, his departure from Florida State was a product of a bad agent in the new era of transfers and NIL.

“Not many people know, but my parents were running my money and stuff like that. My parents got a bad agent and he was texting other schools like he was me, so when that got back to the head coach, I had to leave Florida State,” Hill said.
“During that time when I had to leave, I wasn’t trying to leave, I didn’t want to leave, so I just had to and the portal was closing up. Florida A&M was next door, so I just had to go there for a month, find a new place.”

Hill later said he now has his own, trusted agent. His assertion that not many people know this side of the story was quickly confirmed by teammate Ja’Quinden Jackson, who was sitting next to Hill in the Broyles Center Media Room and expressed surprise at the revelation.
Hill entered the transfer portal and signed with Florida A&M in December. He decommitted after former Rattlers head coach Willie Simmons departed to become Duke’s running backs coach in January.
