Giants’ Malik Nabers suffers ‘minor ankle sprain,’ appears to have avoided ‘serious’ injury: reports

The Giants were back on the practice field on Sunday morning, but they were without their star rookie receiver for a portion of the day’s training session.

According to multiple reports, Malik Nabers left the field during the final team period on Sunday, and was later seen taking off his left cleat and having his foot checked out by the training staff. He observed the rest of practice from the sidelines.

For now, though, it sounds like Giants fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Per ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, the belief is that Nabers suffered a “minor ankle sprain,” and Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com reports that the Giants are hopeful that Nabers is okay and “appears to have avoided serious injury.”

Nabers, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, has been a revelation during his first training camp with Big Blue, as the LSU product has already created a highlight reel of spectacular catches.

A healthy Nabers figures to instantly head to the top of the Giants receiving depth chart come the start of the regular season, but it will be interesting to see how this ankle sprain affects that plan heading into Week 1.
