Wisconsin reportedly getting involved with recruitment of 2026’s top-ranked RB recruit

The Wisconsin Badgers are reportedly among the programs heavily involved in the recruitment of top-ranked class of 2026 running back Javian Osborne.

On3’s Vice President Steve Wiltfong recently reported that Osborne ‘will be back at Texas A&M for its opener vs. Notre Dame,’ ‘is aiming to see Texas play a couple times this fall’ and ‘will perhaps get up to Wisconsin in September.’

The Forney, Texas native is 247Sports’ No. 66-ranked player in the class of 2026, No. 6 running back and No. 7 recruit from the state of Texas. On3, on the other hand, has him ranked as the No. 23 overall player in the class and No. 1 running back.

Wisconsin, Texas and Texas A&M lead a loaded offer sheet that also includes Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee and USC. 247Sports currently has one crystal ball prediction logged for Osborne to choose in-state Texas at this early stage in the process.

Wisconsin landing a visit would be a big win for the program as nearly every top team in the country joins the pursuit to land the top running back. The program’s September schedule includes Sept. 7 vs. South Dakota and Sept. 14 vs. Alabama. The latter is a weekend that could make a substantial impact on Osborne’s recruitment, if the Badgers are able to get him to visit.

Wisconsin currently has one player committed to its class of 2026: three-star quarterback Jarrin Mock. The cycle should heat up once the class of 2025 is signed and the calendar turns to 2026.
