Florida State football returned for its 12th practice on Monday.
After completing their two-day road trip to Jacksonville and their second scrimmage, the Seminoles will hold several practices as they prepare for their season opener against Georgia Tech in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic Saturday. Aug, 24, at noon on ESPN.
Norvell opened his statement by looking back at the FSU’s second scrimmage.
After rewatching the game film, he was pleased with what he had seen, especially from his young group, continuing to make a good impression on the coaches.
“We got what I wanted out of it,” Norvell said. “Getting the chance to see the younger guys, I thought some of the younger guys are continuing to push, to emerge and define a role with an opportunity. “
Norvell wants his Seminoles to continue improving after their scrimmage last week. He not only emphasized consistency and execution regularly throughout fall camp but also pushed his players to be at their best on the field.
“That’s one thing I challenge the guys with,” Norvell said.
“It’s got to be your absolute best. That doesn’t mean there won’t be mistakes that are made, but it’s a push for improvement, a push for that growth, and obviously trying to take advantage to get better.”

FSU’s defense has never disappointed during the camp and is as good as advertised. Norvell believes the defense is communicating better from the back end of the defense.
Norvell focused heavily on the secondary. DB Kevin Knowles II has had a great day after catching two interceptions and some pass breakups during practice.
