Vote for Upstate’s top running back headed into 2024 high school football season

The Upstate is full of talented high school football running backs. Here’s a chance for fans to vote for their favorites. Polls will close at 5 p.m. Friday. Multiple votes are allowed.

Here are 10 candidates listed in alphabetical order:

Aiden Gibson, Woodruff: Gibson had three 100-yard games last season as a freshman. He finished with 765 yards (4.8 per carry) with 10 total touchdowns.

KB Henderson, Blue Ridge: Henderson ran for 1,332 yards (6.3 per carry) with 17 touchdowns and had seven 100-yard games.

Marquise Henderson, Belton-Honea Path: Henderson ran for 2,336 yards (11.1 per carry) and scored 37 touchdowns.

Trenton Lynch, Spartanburg: Lynch last season as a freshman ran for 828 yards (7.3 per carry) and scored five touchdowns.

Ladainnian Martin, J.L. Mann: Martin last season at Greer rushed for 1,580 yards (9.3 per carry) and scored 17 touchdowns.

Jaiden McDowell, Gaffney: McDowell rushed for 1,313 yards (5.5 per carry) and scored 13 touchdowns.

Jaylen McGill, Mountain View Prep: McGill last season at Broome ran for 1,602 yards and scored 24 rushing touchdowns.

KD Patterson, T.L. Hanna: Patterson rushed for 1,682 yards and 28 touchdowns last season. In a playoff game, he had 215 yards and scored twice.

Sharode Richardson, Westside: Richardson ran for 1,222 yards and 19 touchdowns last season for the Class AAAA state champion Rams.

Tre Segarra, Byrnes: Segarra ran for 1,115 yards last season (6.7 per carry) with 12 touchdowns and caught 23 passes for another four TDs.
