The theme for the AC C in college football this season might be quantity over quality.

And no, that’s not a Misspeak for once.

For me.

It’s just being honest, there are 17 teams now, thanks to expansion across college football in the AC C. But how many of them are real college football playoff contenders?

Do we really believe right now moving forward that Clemson is who they’ve been in the past?

I don’t know, can Florida State get any respect knowing that they were left without being part of the college football playoff system on an undefeated season.

And in the meantime, maybe Miami is the only other team in the AC C with a reasonable shot at making national playoff noise.

Now, playoff expansion will help the AC C. Let’s not get it twisted.

Simply the fact that somebody from the AC C has to make the playoffs will prevent what we saw last season from happening again.

But there is still a statement of respect that I think Lords over the AC C knowing how Florida State was treated last year, that will still be part of the conversation around college football.

The other thing we have to remember is that because most of the AC C just isn’t a juggernaut.

We have to realize that there’s very little if any room for error, for most of these teams, one slip up in the SEC or the big 10 will be forgiven.

That’s just fact that same type of slip up in the AC C will not get grace from the committee when they consider seating.

And at large bids, we are now in a world where we’re not sure if Clemson is good enough and we’re not sure what to make of the AC C this year will be a statement year for the conference and for college football as a whole.
