Georgia football QB commit Jared Curtis still being pursued by South Carolina, USC’s Lincoln Riley

Nashville Christian’s Jared Curtis is firmly committed to Georgia football and coach Kirby Smart.

But that’s not stopping other schools from pursuing the top-ranked QB prospect from the 2026 class.

Lincoln Riley and USC extended an offer in June after Curtis visited Los Angeles and has remained in contact with him. Curtis said South Carolina is recruiting him the hardest, with offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains, who spent 16 seasons as an NFL quarterbacks coach, taking the lead for coach Shane Beamer.

Oregon also is still recruiting him, he said.

“A lot of coaches (are calling),” he said Friday after Nashville Christian played FRA in the teams’ final TSSAA football scrimmage before the regular season. “Just because I’m committed doesn’t mean I don’t want to build relationships with other coaches. I just don’t want to take anything for granted. You never know what could happen, never where you could end up going. Hopefully I can just end up going to Georgia because that’s been what I’ve always dreamed.”

Curtis, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound dual-threat QB, is ranked as the No. 1 prospect in the state and the No. 1 QB in the country in his class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He was the first in his class to commit to Georgia when he pledged in March.

Curtis hasn’t set up any college visits for the upcoming season but plans to take two to Georgia at some point, he said. He added that the stability on Georgia’s staff was one of the biggest reasons he committed.

He listens when other schools contact him, but he’s not actively trying to learn anything about their programs.
