Oregon football is ready to erase the memory of its only two losses during the 2023 football season.
As the Ducks move from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten, they enter the 2024 football season as favorites to contend for the 12-team College Football Playoffs and a conference championship. Oregon is ranked as the No. 3 team in the US LBM Coaches Poll, with fellow Big Ten foe Ohio State at No. 2 (the SEC’s Georgia is ranked No. 1).

Both of Oregon’s losses in 2023 came at the hands of rival Washington ― once in the regular season and once in the Pac-12 Championship Game ― denying the Ducks a shot at a CFP berth in Year 2 under coach Dan Lanning. With Oklahoma transfer quarterback Dillon Gabriel an early Heisman Trophy favorite, Oregon is poised to take another leap under Lanning.
The Ducks open the season at home against Idaho on Saturday and while no longer in the same conference as in-state rival Oregon, the “Civil War” matchup will take place during Week 3 this season. Oregon closes out the season against rival Washington.
