Oct 7, 2023; Tempe, Arizona, USA; Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders (2) celebrates after defeating the Arizona State Sun Devils at Mountain America Stadium, Home of the ASU Sun Devils.
Like father, like son.
Deion Sanders already has signature Nike cleats and now Shedeur Sanders is the first college football player to sign an NIL deal with Nike, according to On3’s Pete Nakos and Front Office Sports. It’s a footwear and apparel deal for Shedeur, who has an NIL valuation of $4.7 million, according to On3.
The Colorado quarterback is a projected first-round NFL draft pick and arguably the best signal caller in college football. North Dakota State football coach Tim Polasek said this week that Shedeur is “the best player NDSU has played yet.”
More: Why Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders is one of the best quarterbacks in college football
In his first season with the Buffaloes at the FBS level, Shedeur threw for a school-record 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound QB completed 69.3% of his passes (eighth-best in FBS) and threw just three interceptions despite being the most sacked (52) signal caller in the country.
On the eve of his final college football season opener, Shedeur becomes a Nike ambassador.
That’s perfect timing.
