We’re making picks for Big Ten football teams in 2024. How many games will they win? We’re obviously going to include USC in all of this, and we’re going to go one better. Not only will our Big Ten football panel predict USC’s record; the panel — here at Trojans Wire, joined by Ducks Wire, UW Huskies Wire and UCLA Wire — will also predict the outcome of every USC football game this regular season. Our own 2024 USC schedule analysis led us to this key point:
“If USC beats LSU and gets to mid-October with only one loss, this game (against Penn State) might determine whether the Trojans make the playoff. Penn State at home is not an easy game, but it is also a game USC should probably win. The Trojans’ defense should be much improved in 2024, and that’s what gives us confidence to pick USC over Penn State. The Nittany Lions simply haven’t developed their offense enough to merit the benefit of the doubt here. If this game was in Happy Valley, we would probably give PSU the edge, but not in Los Angeles.”
We think the LSU game is the big table-setter for the rest of the season. If USC does win that game, the Penn State game probably will determine whether the Trojans make the College Football Playoff. At any rate, here are our USC Big Ten football predictions for every Trojan game in 2024:
