Before the website was shut down, Rutgers Wire did some really great things covering the Scarlet Knights. We were excited that the USC-Rutgers Big Ten football game in 2024 received national attention when it was announced that the Trojans and Scarlet Knights would play a late-night Friday game this October, right after Game 1 of the World Series. The game, played in Los Angeles, will start after 11 p.m. for New Jersey residents watching the game on television. We talked to Rutgers Wire editor Kristian Dyer about this game. You can read up on RU by checking out what we wrote about the game. Here’s a snippet from Dyer:
“I really want to see in the trenches on this one,” Dyer told us. “Everyone is questioning if USC can compete in the Big Ten along the lines. I don’t see it being an issue for USC, truth be told. But I really want to see USC going up against an offensive line for Rutgers that is experienced and veteran. Not the best in the Big Ten, but a unit that made a big leap collectively last year.
“For USC fans who don’t know, the Rutgers offensive line coach is Pat Flaherty. He was the offensive line coach for the New York Giants during their last two Super Bowl seasons. Two decades of NFL experience.”
