Michigan State football will go back to using permanent captains for 2024 season, but they will also select an honorary captain for each game as well. For the Spartans’ Week One match-up against FAU, the honorary captain will be redshirt senior linebacker Sam Edwards.

Edwards also played long snapper last season for the Spartans.
