What Missouri State AD Patrick Ransdell said about Plaster Stadium — the $100M question

New Missouri State President Dr. Richard “Biff” Williams was asked to speak at a recent fundraiser for the football program. He was asked to be honest about his feelings regarding Plaster Stadium and what needs to be done for the team to be successful at the FBS level once it joins Conference USA in 2025.

Williams responded that $100 million, over time, will likely be needed for facility upgrades.

“It’s probably an honest figure,” Williams said after introducing Patrick Ransdell as his athletic director. “It is probably $100 million over time. Will we do that today? Head coach Ryan Beard has been vocal about facilities being about 30 years behind and how they’re in the bottom tier of the Missouri Valley Football Conference and will continue to be in its new league.

“The right man at the right time,” Beard posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, following the announcement. “No better time to be a Bear.”
