Friday Night Notes: Bryce Underwood goes off, Auburn hosting notable names

USA TODAY High School Sports‘ Friday Night Notes is a weekly high school football recruiting recap that looks at the latest news from around the country—from the Class of 2025 to ’26 and beyond.

The last week didn’t feature many new commitments but one massive name came off of the board. We also saw several more states kick off their high school football seasons.

Underwood also threw for two touchdowns accounting for all four of the Tigers’ touchdowns on the night.

Jaime Ffrench, the No. 4 wide receiver in the 2025 class, announced his commitment to the Longhorns early Friday morning. He chose the Longhorns over LSU, Miami and Tennessee.

Ffrench ended his commitment day scoring a touchdown in Mandarin’s 47-0 win over Atlantic Coast.
