Week 2 Football Roundup: River Valley rallies in second half, plus other area results

MADISON TOWNSHIP — Tied at 14-14 at halftime, River Valley pulled away in the second half to win its first game of the season 35-14 at Madison Comprehensive.

RV quarterback Chase Ebert led with 103 yards rushing on 11 carries, including a 50-yard touchdown run, plus he completed 23 of 50 passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns to Kolton Lang and Luke Snyder. Eli Snyder grabbed nine passes for 81 yards and had a 50-yard interception return for a TD, while Luke Axline made seven catches for 110 yards. Tyson Waddle ran in a score, while Ryan Green blocked a field goal, and Lang intercepted a pass as well.

The Vikings are now 1-1, while the Rams fall to 0-2.

Northmor 49, South Central 0

All of the scoring came in the first half for the Golden Knights (2-0) as they blasted South Central (0-2).

Carson Campbell scored four times and ended with 79 yards on seven carries, while A.J. Bower was 6-for-7 passing for 81 yards and touchdown passes to Bo Landin and Will Naylor. Northmor had 17 first downs and 267 total yards, while the Trojans had three first downs and 56 yards of offense.

Dalton 48, Highland 26

Facing one of the top Division VI football programs in northeast Ohio on the road, Highland coach Ty Stover said his team played hard and did its best to hang with Dalton (1-1) after it returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

Kolton Stover was 20 of 25 passing for 321 yards and touchdown passes to Kort Sears, Branson Newsome and Cooper Young. Sears led all receives with four catches for 85 yards. Kane Stover ran in a touchdown, too, while Zach Church picked off his second pass of the season. The Scots (0-2) ran for 126 yards to…
