The Illinois Fighting Illini continue the college football season at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 against the Kansas Jayhawks at Memorial Stadium in Champaign.
Coach Bret Bielema and the Illini are coming off a 45-0 victory against Eastern Illinois to open the season. The Illini are expected to compete for a bowl game in his fourth season as coach of the Big Ten Conference program.
Coach Lance Leipold and the No. 22-ranked Jayhawks opened the 2024 season with a 48-3 victory against Lindenwood. Kansas is coming off of back-to-back bowl game appearances — and in a new-look Big 12 Conference, Leipold and company have a chance to capture a league title.
