After eight months of suffering, college football is back and despite there being only three ranked matchups over the weekend, it was a great start to the year.
The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide both look like teams that will be competing for Playoff spots in the expanded 12-team field while the Clemson Tigers and Florida State Seminoles hopes seem to be in severe trouble already. The defending national champion Michigan Wolverines used a late second-half interception to put away a feisty Fresno State team setting up a massive showdown with the Texas Longhorns this weekend.
In the first game post-Nick Saban, the Tide played nearly perfect as they beat Western Kentucky 63-0 and outgained them 600 to 145 yards. Many people were skeptical of Kalen DeBoer and what he could do with the Tide, but it seems like people know Alabama is here to stay. FanDuel has updated their national title odds following Week 1:
