Sep. 3—A top-notch quarterback wore out Lebanon for the second straight week last Friday.
Seven nights after Antioch’s Andre Adams led the Bears to a come-from behind win, Upperman junior Bronzdon Chaffin used his legs and arm to lead the visiting Bees to a 41-14 whipping of the Blue Devils at Clifton Tribble Field/Danny Watkins Stadium.
The 6-foot-4 sophomore accounted for 339 yards and five touchdowns as the Bees, last year’s Class 4A state runner ups, won for the 16th time in their last 17 games dating back to the start of last season. Upperman, which finished with 451 yards of offense, never punted or turned the ball over. The Bees scored on every possession but two. They were stopped on downs late in the first quarter after a block-in-the-back penalty threw a drive into reverse. The clock expired at the end of the game with their backups on the field.
Lebanon got a spark for the second straight week from Harrison (Deuce) Edwards, who…
