Scouting report: Cincinnati Bearcats football hosts Pitt Saturday at Nippert Stadium

Though no paddlewheel trophy is up for grabs, a second straight River City Rivalry takes place Saturday at noon at Nippert Stadium when the Cincinnati Bearcats football team entertains the Pitt Panthers.

UC traveled to Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh last season and downed the Panthers 27-21. UC led 27-7 going to the fourth quarter, as the Bearcats had a successful night running the football. Corey Kiner had a career-high 153 yards. Nose tackle Dontay Corleone also had three tackles, including a tackle for loss, a sack and a quarterback hurry. “The Godfather” returned to practice Tuesday and should anticipate more double teams on Saturday.

“It was Nipp at night,” Stewart said. “The guys are aware of the last time they were here. Hopefully, we keep that fire burning and get another one.”

Brendan Sorsby scores one of his two rushing touchdowns against Towson. He also threw for 383 yards and two scores and was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week after UC’s season-opening 38-20 win.
